Giving Back at Meridian Playground: Our RED Day in Action

Each year, Keller Williams agents across the world pause business for a day of service known as RED Day—Renew, Energize, and Donate. It’s our chance to step outside the world of real estate and pour our energy into the communities we serve. This year, our KW Greater Seattle crew rolled up their sleeves at one of Seattle’s most cherished green spaces: Meridian Playground.

Tucked in the heart of Wallingford, Meridian Playground is more than just a park—it’s a vibrant hub for families, farmers markets, play, and local history. We spent the day trimming overgrown shrubs, weeding garden beds, and spreading fresh mulch throughout the paths and common areas. The goal? Beautification, improved sightlines, and a more welcoming experience for everyone who enjoys the park.

It was hard work—but the kind that fills you up. There’s something powerful about contributing, together, to a place that gives so much to so many.

Why Meridian Matters: A Few Fun Facts

🍎 The park is home to a historic heirloom orchard with apples like MacIntosh and Gravenstein.
🏡 It once belonged to the Home of the Good Shepherd, built in 1906.
🛝 The playground features literary-themed areas with sculptures and storybook quotes.
🍓 Every summer, the Wallingford Farmers Market brings fresh produce, local vendors, and neighborly energy to the space.

We’re proud to be among the 50,000+ volunteers who supported Seattle Parks and Recreation last year—and grateful to them for the vital work they do year-round to maintain and protect these spaces.

Our Ongoing Commitment to Community

At KW Greater Seattle, RED Day isn’t just a once-a-year event—it’s a reflection of our culture and commitment to the neighborhoods we live and work in. Whether we’re volunteering in parks, helping clients find home, or hosting local events, our mission is simple: lead with service, and give where you live.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and gave back. We can’t wait to do it again next year!
